Playing With Shadows

Sometimes things just come together when photographing an event and on Tuesday night the lighting was nearly perfect at Goss Stadium for the Oregon State baseball game. It was the kind of light that is so nice that you want to sun to set slower then usual so that you can continue playing with the shadows that crawl across the field. Needless to say it was a very fun game to shoot. Here is what I came up with.

Pac-12 Track and Field

I only photograph track every once in a while so it's always fun when I get the chance to. This past weekend the Pac-12 Championships were held in Eugene and Oregon State had a few football players running in the 4x100 relay and a football player competing in the high jump, pretty exciting for a school that is trying to build up a track team. The problem is that they only run once a day so I had to plan out every photo I could get of the football players because I wasn't going to get any second chances. I think in total I watched OSU compete in eight events and walked away with about 20 photos that I considered good. Sound like a successful weekend to me.

Pac-12 Golf Comes to Corvallis

Lately I've been pushing myself to look at everything in a different way. Trying to find more repetition in the surroundings and just generally take unique photos that most other photographers will either overlook or just not take the time to photograph. This past weekend I shot the Pac-12 Men's Golf Championship in Corvallis for the Pac-12 and while trying to take the shots they needed I also worked more on this goal of creating unique images. It went well but (like I frequently do) I left far too much on the table.
