Cell Phone Photos
Sports, sports, and more sports. That seems to be all that I have posted for the last month so here is a post to break up this string of sports posts. These are all photos that I have taken with my cell phone since I got it back in August. Like all my photos these are all the originals taken strait from the camera or phone in this case.

OSU vs Stanford
Its been a busy weekend and its not quite over yet. Since Thursday I have shot two basketball games a baseball practice a swim meet and a gymnastics meet. I would call this a full weekend but I still have one more basketball game to shoot at Western Oregon later today at 5pm. Yes... sometimes I do think I overbook myself.
Pink Out 2011
A massive crowd. Two top level gymnastics teams. The color pink. What could be better to photograph on a Friday night!

Western Oregon vs Montana State
Tonight I shot basketball at Western Oregon and the game was pretty good! The Wolves trailed most of the game but were never far behind then in the final minutes they pulled ahead of the Bulldogs and held on for the win.

Another Civil War Post
Less than 24 hours after the men's Civil War basketball game I found myself at the women's Civil War game. Normally I would not travel for the women's game but since the men and women played on different days it was convenient to shoot and I really wanted to see the new Matthew Knight Area. Sadly Oregon State lost this game making this the 4th Civil War loss for the Beavers I have witnessed this year. I did get a few cool shots though and took full advantage of a pass by scouting out places to shoot from for the men's game in a few weeks.

Civil War Basketball 2011
There are few sporting events that I am interested in during the winter months the rivalry between Oregon State and Oregon would be one of those events. Today the Beavers hosted the Ducks at Gill Coliseum and were looking good for the win leading up to the game. That all changed once the game started. Even though the Beavs were able to close a 17 point gap they still lost in the final seconds. For me things went much better. Since the game started at 3pm and it was a beautiful day the windows let in a ton of light allowing me to be a little creative (or at least what I consider creative) along with adding a little extra light to make it a little easier to shoot the game.

Wrestling Strobed
Tonight I continued my quest to figure out how to use the strobes in Gill. I think it went pretty well but I have come to the conclusion that they are just to low. I believe that if they were mounted higher in the stadium that the photos of any sport would be better. The strobes will never be moved though because there really isn't a convenient place to move them. Hey, U of O just got a new stadium... Where is ours?!

Oregon State Baseball Photo Shoot
Just three days after my first team photo shoot I started on a little project that my boss is having me do. I get to take photos of the seniors of the OSU baseball team for the game day program covers. Today we shot four players, and tomorrow the last senior gets their photo taken. I didn't get to be super creative as far as backgrounds and poses go, but I still like the photos I took.
Quizz Is Headed To The NFL
Here is just a quick photo of the press conference that was held for Jacquizz Rodgers to announce that he will be heading to the NFL instead of staying for his senior year at Oregon State.

MCLA Magazine Shoot
These days I never know how is calling me. I receive quite a lot of calls from people who want photos of their sons or daughters playing their sports or looking for free photos from games (which pisses me off) So I sometimes fear answering the phone because I just don't know who is trying to find me. Just a few hours after arriving back in Corvallis I received a phone call from a number I have never seen before and decided to just not answer, but they left a message. The call was from MCLA (Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association) magazine looking for a photographer to shoot the OSU club team for a spread in the magazine. I think I am going to start answering my phone again!
